No TV, Music, Internet, or Phone
Put these things aside for a few hours or a day, two or three times a week and just zone out or get in touch with your inner self. Taking your mind off some things you need to focus on sometimes can lead to creative solutions. Your brain needs regular breaks to maintain at its peak performance/function. One of my instructors called it no-brainer days, it really does revitalize and help you refocus.
Pick up some pen and paper and express yourself, however you are feeling be honest with yourself. Creativity can reduce fatigue and depression. A gratitude journal where you jot down all that you're grateful for can increase optimism. Its a good reminder of what is important and how much we can take the little things for granted. let the light in. The increased exposure to natural sunlight in your home boosts your mood.
