Ginger is a traditional remedy for nausea. According to scientific research, ginger ale works better than a placebo. Ginger ale was first marketed 100 years ago by a Toronto pharmacist, John McLaughlin. He kept trying new formulas until he patented what is now known as Canada Dry Ginger Ale.
Soda pops carbonated beverages originally were served only to customers at drug store soda fountains. McLaughlin was one of the pioneers of technology of mass bottling; which allowed customers to take soda pop home in bottles.
