Blueberries-plant during Fall, Winter, or Spring; the main harvest time is in June. Blueberries require "quite" acid (pH 4-5-5.5), moist, well-drained soil that contains lots of organic matter. Plant two/more different selections for cross pollination and heavier crops.
Strawberries-depending on where you live, in the lower and coastal south, late fall is best to plant. In the upper and middle south, plant in early spring. June-bearing types, the most dependable for the south, flower in Spring, and fruit in late Spring and early Summer. Strawberries need full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Mulch between plants to keep soil moist and berries clean (Southern Living Magazine, April 2015).
