Vitamin C & Collagen (The Skin)
(VitC) Vitamin C plays a critical role in the maintenance of the normal, mature collagen network (anti-scurvy properties) by preventing auto-inactivation of Lysyl and proxyl hydroxylase, two key enzymes in collagen biosynthesis.
VitC enhances the cellular matrix contraction by NHF. Exogenous VitC supply could contribute to the maintenance of optimal collagenic density in the dermis and locally strengthen the collagen network.
Vitamin C Phosphate (VitC-P) and Vitamin C-glucoside (VitC-Glu), two derivatives presenting higher chemical stability in aqueceous solution. The two compounds can be considered as provitamins for skin and an advantageous substitute for VitC based anti-aging products,
